I looked long and hard for a double griddle for my new GE ceramic cooktop range with a bridge burner. This one works great for pancakes. It's really well made, perfectly flat on the bottom and easy to clean up. The 10 X 18 size is the largest compatible with my 8" diameter burners.
The packaging doesn't indicate that it is ceramic cooktop compatible, so I called Kitchenaid support. At first I was told it is not compatible and the porcelain bottom might accidentally fuse to the cooktop. I was frustrated because the other double griddles I had bought were too big or not perfectly flat on the bottom even when they looked flat. I tested for flatness by placing the griddle on the cooktop and alternately pushing on opposite corners with my fingers. This one had no wobble. I called GE trying to figure out which of the flaws was the least problem. Porcelain is okay as long as you don't leave it on a hot burner with nothing in the pan. Too large a pan has the greatest risk of cracking and damaging the cooktop. I really wanted to keep the Kitchenaid griddle and called Kitchenaid support again. This time I was told this griddle is okay on ceramic tops AS LONG AS YOU HAVE A BRIDGE BURNER!
I kept this griddle and have used it for pancakes, french toast and sausages. I love it. I use it at a heat setting of 6 out of 10 or lower ( 4 to 5 is better for pancakes and French toast.). It browns evenly and is easy to clean up. I will not use it at high temperatures or for steaks or hamburgers because of the concern of getting the porcelain coating too hot. I wait for it to completely cool before washing to prevent it from warping. If only Kitchenaid made one that is hard-anodized aluminum on the bottom, then I could be sure it is safe for high heat, too.

I love, love, love this griddle. I wish I had time to use it more. Cooks pancakes beautifully and I imagine eggs, bacon, etc just as well. The red looks so nice in my kitchen and the handles with the soft, rubber make it easy to hold, pic up, use, etc. Easy, quick clean up, and it's storable, yet very hefty in it's weight so you know it's quality. DEFINATELY RECOMMENDED!
best value for your money!

i've been wanting a 2-burner griddle and have been researching on what's available. i decided on this cause not only is Kitchen Aid a reputable brand, it was an excellent price! I'm so happy with this product, it made several perfect pancakes at once with its even heat distribution, and perfect bacon too! plus, cleaning it was a breeze. forget heavy cast-iron or other expensive griddles. you can't go wrong with this one. and the red colour is so funky and attractive!

I'd been waiting on adding this peice to my current red set, then the price dropped and I ordered one. Love it! It hasn't left my stovetop yet, every morning it gets used. I can fix the entire breakfast on it and I love the deep sides and the small dip in the corner to drain off grease. Well done, kitchenaid!
Perfect two-burner griddle

When I purchased my new glass stovetop, I was thrilled to see it has a "bridge" option that allows me to combine two burners.
I bought this two-burner griddle to make pancakes. I also used it for stuffed boneless chicken breasts, which I brown on the stove and then finish off in the oven.
For both uses, the griddle was perfect. It has a completely nonstick flat bottom; it cooks pancakes quickly and evenly; the handles do not get hot; it cleans with a swipe of a sponge. Even the browned-on chicken bits came right off.
And the red is so cheerful.
