I bought this tea kettle to add to my collection of pink KitchenAid appliances, but it turned out to be a really great purchase. The tea kettle is pretty in stainless steel and has only a touch of pink on the silicone handle. It has a loud noticeable whistle that lets you know when your water is ready and is easy to use and handle. I've read the other reviews that state that the pot gets overly hot, but that only happens if you use a grill size that is too large for the kettle. If you read the directions before use, it specifically says to use a burner compatible with the size of the kettle, this easily solves that problem. The spout is large and the kettle is easy to fill, whether throught the lid or the spout. Again, this is a KitchenAid product and has great waranty coverage and excellent customer service. I highly recommend it to anyone who is interested.

I got my brushed steel Tea Kettle as a housewarming present, and I have not had any problems with it. It works great on both electric and gas stoves. The handle does get a little warm due to some heat transferance between the metal of the pot and the silicone, but I've never had to use any pot holders with it as it's never been uncomfortable. It pours smooth, is easy to use, and I like the fact that it has both a whistle that can be lifted up to pour and a removable lid so I can put tea bags directly inside the pot when it's finished boiling so I have a pot-o-tea. Easy to clean with that removable lid, too.

The handle of my previous kettle, a VERY HEAVY black ceramic (would you believe it?) sculptural, Brazilian "Flame-ware" container, broke off in my hand, as i was about to pour boiling water. I had enjoyed it for 5 years. The kettle had been "recalled" but i didn't know it, until it broke and almost injured me. I aesthetically loved that object. But I had to 'let it go'. I was indecisive about a replacement. I considered electric kettles, but decided that they contained another layer of technology (plastic switches) to break and discard. I studied all the possibilities available and read the reviews and chose this in willow blue because: stainless steel and the plastic is heat resistant silicone, and it is basically a simple container.
I like it. Because i have a high BTU Viking range, i do have to pare the flame down to medium so that the silicone near the spout doesn't soften (the printed instructions recommend this). The kettle comes to a boil efficiently and holds its heat well. It pours safely and cleanly. Its whistle is a helpful reminder but not obnoxious. The lid lifts easily and pleasantly for filling (I can't fill through the spout). The arched semi-circles of the kettle are somehow both lovely and ergonomic. My liking increases daily ( a month of use now). It may turn into love...

Ok yall I was not an avid tea drinker and this is my first tea kettle. I read and searched and read some more before I settled on this one. I wanted a pink teapot that whistled loud cause I am a new tea drinker. This one is great. It whistles loud. It doesnt get hot on the handle or the little flippy thingy. But test yours first before you go touching it. I do set mine on high on my stove but I rent and have a bad stove. So I suggest following the instructions first and if that doesnt work then find the right setting for you. Other than that this is a great kettle and nice to look at too...
